StreamLadder pricing and free-plan limits

StreamLadder plans and prices

StreamLadder has four plans as of 8 November 2026, and yearly billing costs the same as ten monthly payments. The upgrade page advertises “Get 2 months free on a yearly plan!”, which matches the figures below.

Plan Monthly billing Yearly billing Per month on yearly What it adds
Free $0 n/a n/a Clip editor with default layouts, 720p / 30 fps export
Starter $15 $150 $12.50 Captions, effects, custom layouts, scheduling, 1080p / 60 fps
Creator $27 $270 $22.50 ClipGPT AI clipping on whole streams
Pro $39 $390 $32.50 4K / 60 fps, posting to X, invited editors

The page shows US dollars. It does not say whether tax or your region changes the price, so treat checkout as the final figure.

The comparison table on the same page sets out what each tier includes.

Feature Free Starter Creator Pro
Export quality 720p / 30 fps 1080p / 60 fps 1080p / 60 fps 4K / 60 fps
Editor upload size 200MB 2GB 2GB 2GB
Import from Twitch, Kick, Trovo, YouTube into the editor Yes Yes Yes Yes

Post and schedule to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook No Yes Yes Yes
Montage maker No Yes Yes Yes
ClipGPT, with Twitch and Kick import and uploads up to 10 GB No No Yes Yes

Pro also lists two Auto Pilot features marked “Soon” and “Coming soon”. Do not pay for Pro on the strength of those until they ship.

What the free plan includes and where it stops

StreamLadder’s free plan covers basic editing with no stated clip limit, and it stops at captions, custom layouts and scheduling. The vendor’s Eklipse comparison calls basic editing “completely free, unlimited, and without watermarks”.

The homepage FAQ adds the watermark rule: “Basic editing never adds a watermark, on any plan. If you use Starter Clip Editor features on the free plan, a watermark is added so you can try them before upgrading”. Those two statements fit together. A clip built only from free tools exports clean. A clip that uses a Starter feature, which the table says includes captions and custom layouts, exports with a watermark until you pay.

For streamers, that line matters because a facecam-over-gameplay crop is often a custom layout. Check whether one of the default layouts fits your overlay before you decide the free plan is enough. Other free options are compared in free AI clippers without a watermark.

What ClipGPT costs per stream

ClipGPT is a flat cost on Creator rather than a meter. The upgrade page lists “Unlimited use of ClipGPT AI Clipping” and “Up to 30 clips from each stream”, so the only variable in the maths is how many streams you process.

Inputs: Creator at $27 monthly or $22.50 a month on yearly billing, and 4-hour streams for the per-hour columns. Arithmetic from prices on 8 November 2026.

Streams a month Source hours Monthly billing, per stream Yearly billing, per stream Monthly billing, per source hour Yearly billing, per source hour
4 16 $6.75 $5.63 $1.69 $1.41
8 32 $3.38 $2.81 $0.84 $0.70
13 52 $2.08 $1.73 $0.52 $0.43
22 88 $1.23 $1.02 $0.31 $0.26

We do not divide by 30 clips. That figure is a ceiling on what ClipGPT returns per stream, not a forecast of how many clips you would post. For contrast, a tool that charges 1 credit per source minute needs 3,120 credits for the same 52 hours; the cost per VOD hour comparison sets those meters side by side, and the VOD cost calculator page explains the method.

There are no credits to run out on the published terms. Two limits could still bite:

  • Fair use. We read the upgrade page, terms and refund policy and none defines a limit on “unlimited”.
  • File size on uploads. ClipGPT uploads are capped at 10 GB. Arithmetic: 10 GB across 4 hours is about 5.6 Mbps, and across 6 hours about 3.7 Mbps, so a higher-bitrate local recording would need trimming or re-encoding. The ClipGPT page takes Twitch and Kick VODs by link and YouTube streams by upload. No maximum VOD length is stated there.

Monthly or yearly: the break-even

Yearly billing pays off if you would otherwise stay subscribed for more than ten months of the year. Below that, paying monthly costs less even though each month is dearer.

Months subscribed in a year Starter monthly total Creator monthly total Pro monthly total
3 $45 $81 $117
6 $90 $162 $234
9 $135 $243 $351
10 $150 $270 $390
12 $180 $324 $468
Yearly price $150 $270 $390

A full year on yearly billing saves $30 on Starter, $54 on Creator and $78 on Pro. A streamer who only needs ClipGPT during a few busy months can also move between tiers: the refund policy says upgrading costs only the difference for the rest of the billing period, and downgrading turns the unused part into credit for your next payments.

Which StreamLadder plan to choose

Pick the lowest tier that contains the one feature you cannot do without, because each step up is a single-purpose purchase.

  • You convert clips you already have and default layouts work: Free, accepting 720p / 30 fps and no captions.
  • You need captions, a custom facecam layout or scheduling: Starter at $15 or $12.50.
  • You want a whole VOD scanned for moments: Creator. That is $12 a month more than Starter on monthly billing and $10 more on yearly.
  • You need 4K, X posting or an editor working in your account: Pro, another $12 or $10 a month.
  • You stream rarely: compare Creator’s flat fee with a metered tool. At 4 streams a month you pay $6.75 each on monthly billing, and a per-minute plan may come out lower.

Trial, cancellation and refund terms

StreamLadder offers new users a 7-day free trial with full access, including ClipGPT and the publisher, per the homepage FAQ. The refund policy, last updated 23 October 2026, says payments are non-refundable except in these cases.

Payment Refund window Condition
Monthly 48 hours after the payment You have not used StreamLadder since the payment
Yearly 14 days after the payment You have not used StreamLadder since the payment
Yearly renewal 48 hours after the renewal None, even if you used it

“Use” means exporting a video, running a ClipGPT project, creating or scheduling a post, or downloading a clip. These refunds are limited to once in any 12 months and cover your most recent payment. The first charge after a trial follows the same windows, so if you decide against the plan after being billed, ask before you export anything else. Requests go through the Request a refund button under Plans & Billing.

The terms say subscriptions renew automatically and you keep access until the end of the paid period after cancelling. In the last 30 minutes before a renewal the payment provider may refuse a cancellation. Subscriptions bought in the mobile app are handled by Apple or Google, under their rules.

If you were on Silver, Gold or Gold+

StreamLadder replaced its old tiers in a blog post dated 9 September 2026. Existing accounts move automatically: Free stays Free, Silver and Gold become Starter, and Gold+ becomes Pro. The post says current users keep their current price for the duration of their current subscription, even if the new plan costs more.

Budget for the listed price at your next change of plan, and do not rely on older Silver and Gold figures in third-party posts. A third-party review checked on 6 October 2026 still named a Gold Plus tier, which matches the vendor’s old Gold+ name rather than a separate current plan.

What is still not confirmed

As of 8 November 2026 these points are open:

  • Any fair-use limit behind “unlimited” ClipGPT, and the longest VOD it will take.
  • Whether tax, currency or region changes the listed price.
  • The full list of editor features that count as Starter level for the watermark rule, beyond the comparison table.
  • How well ClipGPT handles gameplay. The vendor describes funny reactions, chat interactions and intense highlights and makes no game-detection claim on the homepage.
