Streamer clip workflows

Getting from a finished VOD to posted Shorts, Reels and TikToks.

These streamer clip workflows are about execution: the steps for turning a stream or a clip into Shorts, Reels and TikToks once you know which tool you are using. Choosing a tool is a different job, handled in best-of pages and reviews. Workflows are based on published documentation as of 8 November 2026, and no step has been run on gaming footage by this site.

Execution is not selection

If you do not have a tool yet, start with the best AI clip maker page, then come back. If you do have one, pick the workflow that matches where your stream lives and what you want to make.

Choose by source platform

Twitch’s own clipper

Twitch is developing an automatic clipper. As of 8 November 2026 Twitch’s help article describes it as an invite-only Alpha. The Twitch Auto Clips page keeps the dated access log and what it would and would not replace, so the workflows do not duplicate it. Until access widens, treat third-party workflows as the practical route.

Choose by task

A common order of work

Most workflows follow the same order, and it helps to see it before choosing a page. Secure the source first, because a VOD that expires cannot be clipped. Then pick the import route and check the credit cost, since some tools charge by source minute and a four-hour stream can use a large share of a month’s allowance (see pricing). Review the suggestions yourself, because AI picks are candidates, not finished choices. Fix the layout and captions, then export for each platform and check rights before posting.

Where workflows end

These pages explain how to do the job. They do not rank tools on clip quality, since that has not been measured. When a step needs a decision between tools, the page links to a comparison or a best-of page.
